Yep. He’s running. Tim Kaine for Senate.
That’s the analysis from UVA political scientist Larry Sabato.
Earlier today, a University of Richmond student called WINA radio and said that two of his friends were in a class Kaine teaches on Mondays and that Kaine said he would be seeking the Democratic nomination for Senate.
Then DNC Spokeman Brad Woodhouse contradicted that.
Larry Sabato isn’t buying it. He’s convinced Kaine will run.
A popular former Va. Governor, Kaine is Chairman of the Democratic National Committee and would likely face former Sen. George Allen for the seat being vacated by Sen. Jim Webb who beat Allen for the seat in 2006 following Allen’s infamous macacaw slur to a Webb volunteer.
The best rundown I have seen is here on Politico.
